This was a lovely surprise organised by the teachers after I’d spent four days at the British School of Egypt, where I was known as “Mr Steve”, sharing creative writing workshops with the infants, juniors and first two secondary years. It was in the week leading up to World Book Day, which explains why the children are all dressed as fictional characters!

“It was a real pleasure to welcome Steve into our school to work with the children.

“His passion for story telling was clear from the outset. He delivered his sessions in such an engaging way that the children couldn’t take their eyes (or ears) off him. He interacted with the children in an appropriate manner for their age group and had all of them interested – all abilities and girls and boys alike.

“I would definitely recommend Steve to other primary schools – what a fabulous way to enrich the curriculum.”
